The MSNBC racism train just keeps barreling down the progressive tracks! This time it was Melissa Harris Perry throwing out the bogus race card. She stated that it is racist when anybody – like Michele Bachmann – points out that only 53% of the folks pay federal income taxes!
Harris Perry, an MSNBC race relations commentator, stated that when conservatives do so, “What that is meant to imply is that there is a whole group that is dependent.” Wow, she’s bright! No kidding Harris Perry! Anyone who pays no federal taxes is, by definition, a taker and not a contributor… meaning they are dependent on government to provide services they can’t, or won’t, pay for! Racist? No, that makes conservatives realists!
I would also like to point out that you cannot argue against the notion of a “producer” state, while at the same time demanding that the “producers” produce more! It’s a contradiction of logic and reason! Every society and economy inherently rests upon a foundation of production – whether capitalism, socialism or communism. The only difference is in the size, scope and definition of who does the producing and who does the “leeching.”
Capitalism requires folks to produce in order to have the opportunity to achieve success – called the American dream or “the pursuit of happiness.” It limits “leeching” – preferring private charity over government handouts for those who are truly in need.
Socialism requires a small portion of the folks to do all the producing, while encouraging the majority to sit back and “leech” off their work. Problem is, as the numbers of producers shrink, you simply run out of others people’s money to spend – like Europe. It is an unsustainable economic model.
Communism requires everyone to produce, but limits everyone to an equal level of success – typically a very low quality of life. It features no personal ownership of anything… so there’s no dream to chase or happiness to pursue. Everybody is a serf of the state and history demonstrates that it always ends badly.
Conservatives favor capitalism, progressives favor socialism and the far-left and Occupy Wall Street gang favor communism. Regardless of which you prefer, it is an economic issue – not a racial one. Racism can exist or not exist in any of them, although – contrary to liberal propaganda – racism has historically been greatest in socialist and communist systems of government. In fact, capitalism has been the only system that has championed the value, freedom and opportunities of every individual – regardless of race or class.
Harris Perry then went on to advance the absurd theory that many words are actually cleverly concealed codewords for racism – they’ve just been “racialized” by society. To support her theory, Harris Perry points to the word “crime.” She says that when people use this word, they are actually referring to black people! And this women is touted as an expert on race by MSNBC! I think she and Ed Schultz were separated at birth!
The coup d’etat was when she and the MSNBC panel actually attempted to redefine welfare as a positive thing! It’s not a negative thing for a person to have to depend on welfare… it’s a good thing! Easy to say for somebody like Harris Perry who is obviously doing quite well financially and blessed with the ability to live an independent life with self-dignity. However, those enslaved to the welfare state might not think it’s such a great thing. Many of those who currently find themselves among the 17% of unemployed minorities might actually prefer a job and the opportunity to be successful and independent just like Harris Perry – dignity over a government handout!
It’s the same approach liberals take with education – dumb all the kids down! Except, that is, their own kids whom they send to expensive private schools so they can one day join them amongst the ranks of the liberal elite. But as for the rest of the folks (the serfs), it’s a positive thing that all our children are failing to succeed together! In this case, Harris Perry is saying let’s enslave as many folks to welfare as possible and call it a good thing! I think THAT is real racism!
Every time I begin to wonder why MSNBC can’t find anything to discuss but racism, I have to remind myself that MSNBC is not a news channel – it’s a wing of the Obama 2012 re-election campaign. And, when you have nothing else you can run on, you are left with nothing to fall back on but class warfare and race. It’s sad… but this is how it’s going to be for the next year.
What absolutely kills me is that people like Harris Perry are actually content – even happy – with the condition of many blacks in America. They want to keep members of their own race in poverty because it keeps them gainfully employed or in positions of power and influence. If minorities were actually empowered to succeed, they (like her and Al Sharpton) would have nothing to say and would be out of a job – costing them the wealth, fame and power they so crave!
I mean if folks like Sharpton and Harris Perry really cared about improving the lives of minorities, wouldn’t they be the ones addressing the fact that 47% of Americans are dependent on the federal government? Wouldn’t they be infuriated at the failed policies that have locked so many in the minority community into poverty? Wouldn’t they be advocating for policies that would empower minorities to succeed and break out of poverty?
Of course they would… IF they really cared about the folks and not their own position and power. They love to point the finger at black conservatives, such as Herman Cain, as being sell-outs or Uncle Toms; however, it is really these folks who have sold out their own race for personal gain.
This is precisely why Rep. Allen West (R-FL) made the statement, “You have this 21st century plantation that has been out there where the Democrat party has forever taken the black vote for granted. And you have established certain black leaders who are nothing more than overseers over the plantation.” And why Herman Cain has stated that in his opinion the black community has been “brainwashed” by the Democratic Party.
West also noted, “And now the people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected, and their concerns are not cared about.” I hope he’s right. I hope they are waking-up to the reality that they have been used and manipulated by not only the Democratic Party but by their own leaders. I hope they can resist the brainwashing and realize they have been sold a liberal lie. I hope they are finally willing to entertain new options in 2012. Only time will tell…

Very well put. I think (IMO) PMSNBC without being funded by its parent company that paid no taxes last year on billions of profits would not even be on the air, like Air-America. I thought this would change with new management under Comcast but apparently not. I no longer get that channel but sometimes check it out online for the comedic value and when my blood pressure needs to be raised, tbh.
